Websites for restaurants and shops.
I’m Charles Tao, in Charlottetown, PEI. I build your site, host it and keep it up to date, wherever you are. You email me a change, I make it.
Why a website
Before people come in, they look you up.
Your hours, your menu, your number, where you are. They want it on their phone in a few seconds. If it’s missing or out of date, they go somewhere else.
- Open now?Open until 9 pm
- What’s on the menu? The menu, with prices
- What’s the number?Call in one tap
- Where are you?Directions in one tap
What you get
One page with everything they need.
- Open now, from your hoursWorked out from your hours and the days you close, in your time zone.
- One tap to call or get directionsNobody has to hunt for your number.
- A menu that reads on any phoneNo PDF, no zooming.
- Your own web addressLike yourplace.ca, registered in your name.
- Quick to openEven on one bar of signal.
Other work
I designed these too.
All live: stickmancharles.com, taozhenwei.com, ct.stickmancharles.com and its Nova page.
How it works
Three steps, all by email.
- 01Tell me about your placeEmail me its name. Add your hours, menu and a few photos if you have them.
- 02Try your previewI build your site from your real details and send you a link to open on your phone.
- 03Go liveIt goes up at your own web address. After that, email me any change and I make it.
Price
Simple, and you can stop anytime.
To set up
$200CAD
My first two clients pay $100 CAD.
Then, each month
$20CAD
- Hosting
- Small updates, by email
- A preview before you pay
- Stop anytime, keep your site
Your domain is the one cost on top. I buy it for you through Cloudflare, in your name, and charge exactly what Cloudflare charges, with nothing added: usually about $15 to $20 CAD a year.
Security
Nothing to break into.
Your site is a handful of plain files, served by Cloudflare. There’s no login page, no database and no plugins, so there’s nothing for anyone to break into. Every page goes over HTTPS, the padlock in the address bar, and Cloudflare turns away floods of fake traffic before they reach it.
What I won’t do
- Ask for your passwords.I don’t need your Google, Facebook or bank logins.
- See your card number. You pay through Stripe, and it stays with them.
- Track your customers. No ads, no trackers, no cookies of mine.
- Sell or share your details.Or your customers’. Not to anyone.
- Change your site behind your back.Nothing goes up that you didn’t ask for.
- Keep your domain if you leave. It’s in your name, and it goes with you.
- Eat your dinner.Unless you invite me.
