Terms

The deal, in plain words.

Last updated November 2, 2026.

These terms are the agreement between you and EchoForge Design, run by Charles Tao in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, when I make and look after a website for you. You accept them when you pay your first invoice. Questions: hi@echoforgedesign.com.

What you get

The preview

I build a preview of your site before you pay anything. If you don’t want it, you owe nothing.

Price and payment

Prices are in Canadian dollars: $200 CAD to start ($100 for my first two clients), then $20 CAD a month, as on the home page when you sign up. You pay by card, through invoices sent by Stripe. The monthly fee is billed at the start of each month.

If a payment is more than 30 days late, I may take the site offline until it is paid. I will email you before I do.

Your domain

If you want your own web address, I buy it for you through Cloudflare, registered in your name, and charge you exactly what Cloudflare charges, with nothing added. Cloudflare charges in US dollars, so I bill the same amount in CAD at the exchange rate I actually pay. For a .com or a .ca that is usually about $15 to $20 CAD a year. It renews each year at Cloudflare’s price at the time, and I will tell you if that price changes.

If you leave, the domain goes with you: I move it to an account of your own, at Cloudflare or another registrar. A domain usually can’t be moved in its first 60 days.

Your content, and your site

You own what you send me: your name, logo, menu, photos and words. You confirm you have the right to use them, and that what you ask me to publish is accurate. Please look over your site after each change, especially prices and allergy information, and tell me if anything is wrong. I will fix it.

The site I make for you is yours to use for your business, including after you stop working with me. I may show it as an example of my work, unless you ask me not to.

Stopping

You can stop at any time by email. There is no fee and no notice period: the month you have paid for runs out, and nothing more is charged. When you stop, I send you your site’s files and move your domain to you.

I can stop too, with 30 days’ notice by email, and the same handover.

Responsibility

I do careful work and fix my mistakes quickly. I can’t promise the site will never be down, because that depends on Cloudflare and on the internet. I am not responsible for losses caused by things outside my control, or by information you gave me being wrong. If my work causes you a loss, the most I am responsible for is what you paid me in the 12 months before.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of Prince Edward Island and of Canada.

If these terms change

I will email clients at least 30 days before a change applies to them, and the date at the top will change.
